It seems Google's web browser Chrome is living up to early predictions...

When the browser first hit the scene many touted it would take down big guns Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox within a few years. While it is still early days, the data from the many sites we have access to suggests that Chrome has already surpassed other known browsers such as Safari and Opera.

If the figures we have are accurately reflecting mainstream use, then Chrome is already the third most used web browser behind only the above mentioned big guns. Not bad at all considering its very short life compared to others that have come, and gone, such as Netscape whose official support ended March, 1st 2008.
